mustard sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 30 g margarine
  • 30 g flour
  • 500 ml water, cold
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • n. B. vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Recipe from the former GDR

Melt the margarine. Add the flour and stir to make a roux. Then add water. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vinegar, sugar, and mustard (do not boil). We eat this sauce with eggs and boiled potatoes, but it also goes very well with fried fish. Tip: Sauce fans can, of course, multiply the quantity as desired.
