Ingredients
- 200 ml Water
- 150 ml Milk
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 cube Fresh yeast
- 1 heaped tbsp Butter
- Flour as needed
- Parchment paper for the baking sheet
- Milk-Water mixture for brushing
Instructions
- Slightly heat the water with the milk and melt the butter in it. Add 1 tsp sugar and the yeast and stir until the yeast has dissolved.
- Put the water-milk-yeast mixture in a bowl and add the remaining sugar and salt. I add 5 tablespoons of whole wheat flour. Now slowly work in the flour and use enough flour until you get a nice, smooth and no longer sticky dough. Cover and let rest for about 1-2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 210 degrees (fan oven 200 degrees) and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- Take the dough out of the bowl, knead it briefly on a lightly floured work surface and shape it into a loaf or whatever you would like to make out of it. Place on the baking sheet and cut diagonally with a knife. Then cover and let rest for about 45 minutes.
- Brush with the milk-water mixture (if you like, you can sprinkle sesame seeds on the bread). Slide into the 2nd rail from the bottom and bake the bread for 30-35 minutes. Note the desired degree of browning.
