Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 liter of milk
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 6 tbsp cornstarch
- 750 ml orange juice
- 1 tsp orange blossom water
- 2 tbsp pistachios, ground or finely chopped
- some water
- possibly orange(s), sliced

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes
Syrian pudding
Bring the milk and sugar to a boil. Mix 4 tablespoons of cornstarch with a little water to thicken the milk. Fill dessert bowls about halfway and let cool thoroughly. Reduce the juice to 500 ml. Mix the remaining cornstarch with a little water and use it to thicken the orange juice. Bring to a boil briefly, then stir in the orange blossom water. Let cool slightly and then pour over the milk pudding. Let cool thoroughly and sprinkle with pistachios before serving. If desired, place a thin orange slice between the pudding and the orange syrup.
