Nutella Alternative: Recipe For Healthy Chocolate Spread

Nutella Alternative: Chocolate Spread Recipe

The new star in the kitchen is products with lupins, also known as kidney beans. With this great superfood, you can make a chocolaty and vegan spread for your bread.

  • You need 100 g nuts of your choice or almonds, 100 g lupine flour, 10 pitted dates, 40 g good quality coconut oil, 4 tbsp pure cocoa powder, 150 ml water, and a pinch of salt.
  • Put all the ingredients in a tall container, take a hand blender and chop all the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • However, the best way to make chocolate cream is with a high-performance mixer.
  • If the cream is too dry for you, simply add a little more water.
  • Fill the spread into a sterilized and screwable jar.
  • Extra tip: Vary the recipe and add grated coconut, fresh vanilla, or cinnamon.

Shelf life of the self-made chocolate cream

  • Since there are no preservatives in your homemade spread, it won’t last as long as a store-bought one.
  • You can therefore store the vegan chocolate spread in the refrigerator for a maximum of 4 weeks.
  • It is important to only use clean spoons and not to touch the inside of the screw cap with your fingers. That way no germs form.
