Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 8 slices of toast
- 2 eggs
- 70 g sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter
- 150 g strawberries
- 100g Nutella
- 100 g cream cheese
- 20 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp milk
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 27 minutes
Roll out all the slices of toast thinly with a rolling pin. Halve the washed strawberries and set aside. Spread Nutella on half of the slices and arrange a row of strawberries on top. Warm Nutella is much easier to spread, and you can be sure that the thin slices of toast won’t tear. Carefully roll up the slices of toast and spread Nutella on the end (about 1 cm) so that the roll sticks together better. For the alternative filling, mix cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of milk, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Spread this cream on the remaining four slices of toast, top with strawberries, and roll up. Dip the rolls in the beaten egg. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat and fry the French toast until golden brown. Finally, roll in cinnamon sugar. Note: These little rolls are something special. If you’re tired of crêpes and boring cinnamon and sugar French toast, you’ll definitely enjoy this little breakfast. The small slices of toast filled with Nutella and strawberries or with sweet cream cheese are great for dipping in egg and don’t fall apart.
