simple and delicious

Peel the apples and cut into very fine pieces. Finely chop the walnuts. Mix the cinnamon, nuts, and apples. Roll out the puff pastry and spread with the nutty (or chocolate) spread. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough and carefully roll it up lengthwise. Press the ends and the long side of the dough down to prevent any liquid from escaping. Brush the strudel with egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 180°C fan-assisted oven (or 200°C top/bottom heat) until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream, vanilla sauce, whipped cream, fruit, or, best of all, all of the above.
