Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 eggs
  • 180 g sugar
  • 180 g semolina
  • 800 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 1 tbsp rum, more if desired
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 bottle of lemon flavor
  • 800 g sour cherries, pitted, from the jar
  • Fat for the mold
  • Breadcrumbs for the mold
  • 500 g cream or cherry yogurt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Separate the eggs. Combine all ingredients, including the egg yolks. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold in the cherries and egg whites, but do not overmix. Bake in a greased, breadcrumb-coated casserole dish for one hour at 180°C. Serve with cherry yogurt or whipped cream, if desired.
