The ingredients for banana bread with oatmeal
You may already have the following ingredients at home:
- 3-4 (very ripe) bananas
- 150 g flour (e.g. wheat flour, spelled flour, coconut flour)
- 50 grams of rolled oats
- 100 g applesauce (alternatively 1 grated apple)
- 80 g chopped nuts (e.g. walnuts, almonds, pecans)
- 3 eggs
- 2 level tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- butter for the mold
The preparation
Preparation time: approx. 15 minutes
Baking time: approx. 40 minutes
Oven: Preheat to 175 degrees
- Mash the bananas well to create a creamy paste.
- Chop the nuts and add to the bananas with the eggs and apple sauce. Mix well.
- In a second bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add to the banana mixture and whisk with a hand mixer until you get an even batter.
- Finally, place in a buttered loaf tin and bake at 175 degrees for about 40 minutes. Prick the dough with a toothpick – if nothing sticks, the banana bread is ready.
- Remove from the oven, let cool and enjoy.
The vegan version
In a slightly modified form, you can also enjoy the delicious banana bread with oatmeal as a vegan.
- Simply swap the eggs for egg replacer powder.
- Use oil to grease the cake pan or line it with baking paper.
