Loaded with numerous germs

The eggs are not cleaned particularly well before packing. Since the egg has a natural protective layer, the eggs are not washed to protect the layer. Only coarse dirt is brushed off.
However, there can be numerous germs and pathogens on the eggs, which are also deposited in the egg carton during transport. Salmonella can therefore be spread very easily through egg cartons.
The germs do not pose a problem for the consumption of the eggs. If the eggs are boiled or the contents are processed, all germs are killed. Since you cannot clean an egg carton sufficiently either, you should refrain from reusing it.
