Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ¼ cup(s) water
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • ½ cup butter
  • Sugar, 2/3 cup
  • 2 eggs
  • brown cane sugar, 2/3 cup
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1.33 cup(s) Flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown cane sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 cup(s) nuts (e.g. almonds and hazelnuts or coconut flakes), chopped
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

American cake made from oat flakes with nuts and brown sugar

Boil water and pour over the oats. Let it sit. Mix the butter, sugar, eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla sugar well. Drain the oats if necessary and add them to the mixture. Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon and add to the oat mixture. Mix well. Pour the batter into a springform pan and bake for 40-50 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the glaze ingredients well and pour over the cake immediately after baking. Return the cake to the oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until lightly browned. The cake will stay very moist on the inside.
