Oatmeal with apple and pear compote

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 liter of milk or oat drink, rice drink, soy drink, etc.
  • 500 ml water
  • 12 tbsp oat flakes, wholegrain
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder, to taste
  • 4 apples
  • 6 bulb(s)
  • 1 orange(s)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Core the apples and pears and cut into small pieces. Place them in a saucepan, squeeze the orange juice over them. Scoop out the flesh and add it with the lemon juice, stirring. Simmer on medium heat for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything has become a porridge (a few pieces can stay in). Now add the cinnamon! Combine the milk or oat, rice, or soy drink with water in a saucepan, add the oats and vanilla sugar, and heat on low heat for 10-15 minutes until it thickens. Then heat the milk on medium heat until the mixture thickens (this happens relatively quickly; the longer you keep the heat under the pan, the thicker the porridge will be). Now, as desired, either serve the warm oatmeal with the porridge, or, as I do, stir the porridge into the warm porridge, let it cool, and enjoy!
