Oatmeal with banana

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 ml milk or soy milk
  • 50 ml water
  • 40 g oat flakes or oat-based muesli
  • 1 banana(s)
  • 20 g apricot(s), dried
  • Cinnamon powder
  • possibly cardamom powder
  • possibly sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

heartwarming breakfast for cold autumn and winter days

Cut the apricots into small pieces. Mash the banana in a saucepan. Add the oats, apricots, milk, and water. Bring to a boil briefly, then simmer on low heat. Stir frequently to prevent burning. Meanwhile, season with cinnamon, cardamom, and sugar to taste. When the porridge has reached the desired consistency (mine took about 7 minutes), remove from the heat and serve hot. Variation: The bananas and apricots can be substituted with any other fruit. The banana, however, adds a certain sweetness and creaminess. Soy milk can also be used as an alternative; then the dish is even suitable for vegans.
