Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced pork
- 1 tsp, leveled salt
- 1 tsp, levelled black pepper, ground
- 1 tsp thyme, dried and grated
- 1 tsp, levelled sage, ground
- ¼ tsp, stripped Allspice, ground
- ⅛ tsp, leveled nutmeg
- ¼ tsp, leveled onion powder
- 1 tsp, leveled cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp, heaped sugar, brown
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
juicy meat patties for a real southern breakfast
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Form the mixture into approximately 8-10 saucer-sized patties, each about 1 cm thick. Heat a large pan with cooking oil. Then fry the patties, turning frequently. Be careful, as the sugar will cause them to brown very quickly. Serve with scrambled eggs and toast. Another variation would be torn apart the sausage and tossed it in a pan with a roux, stock, and cream to make a breakfast gravy, and serve it with buttermilk rolls.
