Onion Cake from Sheet

  • 500 g Flour
  • 250 g Soft butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 6 tbsp Water
  • 250 g Streaky bacon or diced ham
  • 2 kg Onions
  • 2 cups Creme fraiche Cheese
  • 2 cups Cream
  • 4 Eggs
  • Salt pepper
  • 400 g Grated cheese
  1. Knead the flour, butter, salt, eggs and water into a smooth dough, let it rest a little, roll out evenly on a baking sheet and prick several times with a fork.
  2. Leave the streaky bacon in a pan, fry the coarsely chopped onions in it until translucent and allow to cool.
  3. Whisk together the crème fraiche, cream and eggs, season with salt and pepper and stir in the grated cheese. Fold in the onion mixture and distribute it on the dough.
  4. Bake at 200 ° C for about 60 minutes until golden brown. The amount is enough for one sheet
