Onion cream schnitzel

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicken schnitzels
  • some breadcrumbs
  • 5 onions
  • 3 cups of cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper
  • some fat

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 30 minutes

Season the chicken schnitzels with salt and pepper, then coat them in breadcrumbs on both sides and fry them in a little fat for 5 minutes on each side. Place the cooked schnitzels in a casserole dish. Slice the onion into rings and fry briefly in the pan. Add the cream and stir in the cup of sour cream, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil briefly. Pour the onion and cream sauce over the chicken schnitzels and let it marinate in the refrigerator for a day. Once everything is well-seasoned, finish cooking in the oven at 180°C for one hour. This goes very well with rice or potatoes.
