Onion goulash

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg goulash
  • 1 ½ kg onion(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • possibly chili pepper(s) or pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Grandma’s original Rhenish-Hessian recipe

Sear the goulash until crisp. Season with pepper, salt, and hot paprika. Peel and chop the onions, but not too finely; eighths or half rings are better. Add the onions to the meat. Continue sautéing until cooked through. This takes about an hour, depending on the meat. Season generously, adding chili peppers or chili peppers if you like, and season to taste. Serve with boiled potatoes or dark (farm) bread. Pasta is also delicious.
