Onion juice by Sarah Carina

Spread the love

Ingredients for 9 servings:

  • 2 onions
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey
  • 1 half lemon(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 10 minutes

Only the finest ingredients for the world’s best cold remedy. Ancient and still good!

Peel the onions and slice them into rings, separating the individual rings. In a mason jar or tall, narrow plastic container, alternate layers of onion rings, drizzle with honey, and add a few squeezes of lemon juice until all the onions are used up (I used three layers). After a few hours, the juice will start to appear. Place the container in a cool place. I shook it every now and then when I was at the refrigerator to mix everything well. The next morning, the juice no longer tasted of onions, but of honey and lemon, so it wasn’t unpleasant at all! I prefer the “all-natural” version when I have lemons at home. But of course, you can also use the lemon concentrate from the yellow containers or opt for rock candy or regular sugar.
