Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 4 onions
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings, then brown them in the butter. Add water and simmer until reduced by half. Season with salt and pepper. Ladle the soup into ovenproof bowls, top with toasted bread, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the oven at 175 degrees Celsius until the cheese has melted.
