The three-knock method with a difference: this is how the mason jar opens easily
From “sticking a knife under the rim” to “knocking on the bottom of the jar” – there are all sorts of home remedies for the easiest way to open a mason jar. In any case, the following method works just as well:
- Take the glass and hold the rim towards a stable surface such as a table.
- Now tap the rim of the glass a few times around its own axis on the table. This will loosen the metal a bit.
- For a better grip, you can then put canning gum around the lid. You should then be able to easily remove the cover.
The solution for everything: duct tape
With duct tape you can not only repair a broken cable yourself but also open unruly mason jars:
- To do this, cut about 30cm from the duct tape roll and stick it on the lid of the jar.
- The adhesive tape should cover about a quarter to half of the lid (see picture gallery). You should also stick the tape over the edge of the lid to increase grip.
- You can further optimize the protruding end of the tape by pressing the adhesive surfaces together.
- Now if you gently pull on the tape while holding the jar with your other hand, the jar should open more easily.
