Christmas flavor, for 12 pieces
Grease and flour a 26cm springform pan and preheat the oven to 180°C fan/convection oven. Wash and zest the orange, then peel and segment the orange, and dice it, reserving the juice and tossing it with the cinnamon and sugar. Quarter the dominoes. Melt the dark chocolate coating in a double boiler. Cream the softened butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Then beat in the eggs, one at a time. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, orange zest, and hazelnuts. Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture a spoonful at a time. Add the reserved orange juice and milk. The batter should pull away from the spoon with difficulty. Then stir in the chocolate coating. Loosely fold the orange segments and dominoes into the batter. Pour the finished batter into the pan and bake for about 45 minutes. Do the skewer test after 45 minutes. Then remove the cake from the oven. Heat the jam and spread it on the still-hot cake until it shines. The cake also tastes good slightly warm.
