Orange jelly with whiskey

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 ½ kg orange(s)
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 1 packet of gelling sugar 2:1
  • 1 shot of whiskey

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 34 minutes

Rinse the oranges with hot water. Grate the zest from 2 oranges and set aside. Now juice all the oranges and measure 750 ml of juice. Top up with water if necessary. Add the grated zest and the juice of half a lemon. Transfer to a large saucepan and mix with the preserving sugar. Then cook according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, add a small swig of whiskey to each prepared jam jar and fill with the cooked jelly. Seal the jars and turn them upside down for 5 minutes, if necessary.
