Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1 liter orange juice (direct juice, not concentrate)
  • 2 oranges (organic)
  • 2 bags of mulled wine spice
  • 2 tea bags (fireside evening)
  • 1 cinnamon stick(s)
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 carnations
  • 500 g gelling sugar (3:1)
  • some rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 18 minutes

Christmas spiced orange jam

Wash the oranges, zest, and squeeze out the juice. Gently heat the fresh orange juice, bottled orange juice, tea bags, and spices. The spices are up to your personal taste. You can also add two cinnamon sticks. Do not boil, but let it steep for at least 30 minutes. Remove from the heat. Then remove all spices and tea bags, add the gelling sugar and orange zest, and bring to a boil according to the instructions on the gelling sugar packet. Add the rum and pour into jars. This amount makes about five jars. It tastes very fruity, and the mulled wine flavor makes this jam perfect for Advent and Christmas, or as a gift.
