Orange Salad with Chilli and Vanilla
The perfect orange salad with chilli and vanilla recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Red chilli pepper
- 6 Oranges
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
- 4 tbsp Liquid honey
- Wash and clean the chilli pepper, cut in half lengthways and remove the seeds and white skins. Cut the halves into thin strips. Peel the oranges thickly, also removing the white skin. Cut the fruit crosswise into thin slices while collecting the juice.
- Slice the vanilla pod lengthways and scrape out the pulp. Pour orange juice and 4 tablespoons of water into a small saucepan. Add the vanilla pulp and pod, as well as chilli pieces and vegetable oil, bring to the boil once and simmer for about 4 minutes. Stir in honey and remove the pot from the stove. Drizzle the orange slices with the honey syrup and cover with foil and leave to stand for about 30 minutes.
- Arrange the orange slices with the stock and chilli in dessert bowls and serve. Cream flavored with a little vanilla sugar and whipped to a semi-solid taste also tastes good.
