Original American hamburgers

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef, very lean (preferably 90% meat, 10% fat)
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • Fat for frying
  • 4 rolls (hamburger buns)
  • ketchup
  • n. B. Onion(s), cut into rings

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Hamburger patties

Mix the ground beef with the ingredients and form into flat burgers slightly larger than the size of your palm. Heat the fat in a pan over medium heat, add the hamburgers to the pan, and cook until the underside is browned. Flip and continue cooking until the other side is browned. Place on hamburger buns, drizzle with ketchup, and top with onion rings. The hamburgers can also be grilled. Another tip: To keep the hamburgers flat, you can weigh them down with a heavy plate or something similar while cooking.
