Maultaschen – minced meat – pepper – casserole

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g Maultasche(s)
  • 250 g minced meat
  • 250 g cream
  • 150 g cream cheese spread
  • 200 ml red wine, dry (Bordeaux or similar)
  • 100 g cheese (e.g. Emmental), grated
  • pepper, black
  • Sea salt
  • Thyme

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Maultaschen baked with a minced meat and pepper sauce

Halve the Maultaschen and place them in a baking dish. Sear the minced meat and deglaze with the cream. Melt the cream cheese in the sauce and then add the red wine. The sauce should now have a light pink color. Add the thyme and bring to a boil briefly. Season well with salt and pepper and drizzle over the Maultaschen. If you like pepper, we recommend freshly grinding the pepper coarsely. Finally, sprinkle with cheese and place the baking dish in the oven at 200°C (fan oven) for 15-20 minutes. Serve with fresh baguette or (even better) rye bread.
