Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 600 g pork schnitzel
- 2 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp thyme
- 3 tsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 onions
- n. B. Salt
- 150 ml olive oil
- 2 dashes lemon juice
- 1 tsp mustard, hot
- Pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 days 40 minutes
First, wash the meat, pat dry, and cut into wafer-thin strips. Peel and slice the onions. Peel and mince the garlic. Mix everything with the spices and marinate in the refrigerator for about 1-2 days. Fry in batches in a very hot pan and keep warm. Serve the gyros hot. Serve with coleslaw, rice, and Greek antipasti as side dishes.
