Parmesan – Meatballs with Tomato Sauce

for the balls

  • 600 g Mixed hack
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 g Freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • Salt pepper
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • Oil for frying

for the sauce

  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Can Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Paprika pulp (Ajvar)
  • 1 tsp Separate oregano
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • Basil leaves
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  1. Put the minced meat, egg, grated Parmesan and onion in a bowl and knead well.
  2. Peel off the garlic, chop it into small pieces and mix in.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and shape into balls.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the balls briefly and take them out again.
  5. Roughly dice the onions and sauté in the frying fat.
  6. Add the tomato pieces, season with salt, pepper, tomato paste, ajvar, oregano and possibly chilli-chili powder. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Season to taste with a pinch of sugar.
  8. Add the meatballs to the sauce, cook for 5 minutes and serve with the basil leaves.
