Pasta and vegetable casserole with Wienerle

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g pasta
  • 100 g beans
  • 100 g cauliflower
  • 4 Vienna sausages
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml milk or cream
  • 150 g cheese (Maasdam)
  • Butter for the mold
  • Sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, blanch the beans and cauliflower in a pot with water, salt, and sugar. Dice the onion and slice the wieners. When the pasta and vegetables are ready, drain the water. Grease a casserole dish with butter and lightly fry the diced onion and wieners in the remaining butter. Add the pasta, vegetables, onion, and wieners to the casserole dish and mix well. Whisk the eggs with the milk, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and pour into the casserole dish. Cover with the Maasdam cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 30-35 minutes.
