Pasta bake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g macaroni
  • 150 g cooked ham
  • 6 slice(s) Gouda, medium-aged
  • 100 g Parmesan, grated
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 ½ tsp broth, granulated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Cook the macaroni in plenty of salted water. Meanwhile, cut the cooked ham into small pieces and remove the rind from the cheese. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Drain the pasta. In a baking dish, layer some of the pasta, then the ham, then the Parmesan, then more pasta, ham, and then the Parmesan. Spread the remaining pasta on top. Whisk the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and broth and pour over the pasta. Finally, spread the Gouda cheese on top so that all the pasta is covered. Reduce the oven temperature to 150°C and place the casserole in the oven. Bake at this temperature for about 50 minutes. Then reduce the oven to 200°C and bake the casserole for another 10 minutes. This will make the casserole nice and crispy. Serve with a green salad or cucumber salad.
