Pasta casserole with sour cherries and nuts

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 150 g pasta (spirelli)
  • salt water
  • 1 tbsp butter for the mold
  • 1 roll
  • 100 g hazelnuts, chopped
  • 350 g sour cherries from the jar
  • 200 g cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 150 g nougat
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Prepare the pasta in salted water according to the instructions. Drain well. Grease a dish. Cut the bread roll into thin slices and line the dish with them. Roast the nuts in a dry pan. Empty the cherries into a sieve and drain well. Mix the roasted nuts into the pasta and spread it in the dish. Sprinkle the cherries on top. Heat the cream and sugar in a saucepan, dissolve the nougat in it (the cream shouldn’t get too hot, so the eggs don’t curdle when stirred in). Stir in the eggs and pour everything over the pasta. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15 minutes. If you like it a little crispy, you can use the top heat. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
