Pasta – tomato sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tsp flour
  • Water
  • ½ tsp instant broth
  • 1 ½ tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp basil (dried)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 5 tbsp tomatoes, pureed
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan. While the olive oil is heating, prepare about 300ml of water. Add the flour to the hot olive oil and immediately whisk until smooth. (If it doesn’t form a paste, add a little more olive oil.) Now immediately add the water, a little at a time, and stir again until smooth. The water is sufficient until the sauce has thickened to your liking (be careful, there will be some passata added, so it will be a bit runnier). Now add the broth, tomato paste, sugar, basil, balsamic vinegar, passata, and cream to the sauce. Finally, season everything with salt and pepper and bring back to a boil briefly. Done! If you like, you can add some mozzarella to the tomato sauce for a delicious tomato and mozzarella sauce. It goes well with almost any type of pasta, including gnocchi.
