succeeds easily, cleverly

Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-assisted oven). Grease a 25 x 15 cm baking dish with butter. Drain the canned peach halves in a colander. Make a cross-shaped cut in the fresh fruit and pour boiling water over them. Peel and halve the peaches, then remove the stones. Cut the fruit into small pieces, mix with the sugar, and spread evenly in the baking dish. Knead the flour, sugar, butter, and cinnamon with your fingers until a crumbly dough forms. Sprinkle the crumble over the peaches. Bake the peach cobbler in the center of the oven for about 40 minutes, until the crumble is golden yellow. Remove from the oven and serve warm. Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Variation: Instead of peaches, the cobbler also tastes good with apricots, plums, pears, or cherries.
