Pear and red wine chutney

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pear(s)
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 3 cm ginger, fresh
  • 1 orange(s), juice
  • 200 ml vinegar
  • 200 ml red wine
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 carnations
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Core the pears and chop them finely. Peel and chop the onions. Squeeze the orange and reserve the juice. Place it in a saucepan with the other ingredients and simmer over low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours. While the chutney is still hot, pour it into prepared twist-off jars and seal. This chutney goes perfectly with meat, cheese, and grilled dishes.
