Pear casserole with walnuts

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 bulb(s)
  • ½ lemon(s) organic, grated peel and juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 40 g sugar
  • 50 g flour
  • ⅛ liter milk
  • 1 ginger, walnut-sized, finely grated
  • some butter for the casserole dish
  • 100 g walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Peel the pears, quarter them, slice them thinly, and drizzle with lemon juice. Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy, then stir in the flour, milk, lemon zest, and ginger. Fold in the pear slices. Grease a shallow baking dish well with butter. Add half of the walnuts, sprinkle the batter over them, and sprinkle the remaining walnuts on top. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for about 35 minutes. Sprinkle the casserole with powdered sugar and serve. If you like, you can also mix the powdered sugar with cinnamon.
