Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ¼ kg pear(s), ripe, but still firm – possibly Williams Christ
  • 800 g sugar
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 2 vanilla pods

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 40 minutes

Peel and quarter the pears, remove the cores, and finely chop the pears. Bring to a boil with the sugar, lemon juice, and the split vanilla pods, cover, and refrigerate overnight. The next day, bring back to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring. Remove the vanilla pods, cut into pieces, and divide between the jars. Bring the jam to a boil, test for set, and pour into jars while still hot.
