If you have bought a pomelo for the first time, peeling it is an unexpectedly difficult task. We will show you how to disassemble the pomelo into its individual parts in just a few simple steps.
Instructions: Peel the pomelo properly
- Take a small knife and make two long cuts across the pomelo. The two cuts should form a cross.
- Depending on the size of the pomelo, you have to cut different depths. Even with small pomelos, the skin is at least 2 cm thick.
- Once you have made the cross-cut about 2 cm deep, you can slide your finger between the four quarters at the top and push the peel to the side.
- With a little force, the shell can now be easily removed. Once the skin is removed, only the flesh remains.
- You can simply break open the pulp if it doesn’t happen by itself.
- The individual chambers can also be cut open with a knife so that you can expose the pulp with your fingers.
