Plum-Amaretto Jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg plum(s), washed and pitted
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • some cinnamon
  • 1 small bottle(s) of bitter almond flavoring or 1 tbsp Amaretto

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 43 minutes

Makes approx. 6 glasses of 250 ml each

Chop the fruit into small pieces and place it in a large saucepan. Stir in the gelling sugar, cinnamon, and flavoring. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly! Follow the cooking time on the gelling sugar packet. Now immediately fill prepared twist-off jars with the hot jam, filling them to the brim and place the lids on top. Alternatively, you can use 900 ml of juice; this essentially makes an amaretto jelly. If you’re having children with you, it’s better to use the flavoring version. It tastes just as good, but is guaranteed alcohol-free. It also tastes great with semolina pudding, vanilla pudding, rice pudding, vanilla ice cream, etc.
