Ingredients

  • 1,5 liter Juice of ripe plums or plums
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 4 Pck Vanilla sugar
  • 0,5 tsp Mixed with cinnamon or 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 2 piece Cloves
  • 0,7 liter Brown rum 40%

Instructions

  • Cook plums / plums (pitted) in the steam juicer for 2 hours and collect the juice in a container. Then strain the juice through a clean, sterile linen cloth to filter out the turbidity. Alternatively, a tea filter is also possible. This process requires a little patience.
  • Bring the juice to the boil with sugar, vanilla sugar and the spices. Until the sugar has completely dissolved, then let the juice cool down, leaving the spices in the pot to infuse. After cooling, add the rum, stir briefly and fill into a clean, sealable bottle. Finished!
  • Tip 3: if you don't have a juicer, you can boil the plums / plums with a little water in a saucepan on a low flame. If you like the liqueur with a little more "kick" you can also use 54% rum.
  • Tip 2: if you don't like the taste of cloves, you can replace them with a few drops of bitter almond flavor. It also tastes great 🙂 I always make the liqueur for our Christmas market every year, packed in small, beautiful bottles, it is always a hit, to give away or to drink yourself .... Have fun making it yourself
