Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of pointed cabbage, cut into strips
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • possibly cornstarch, mixed with water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

pointed cabbage as a side dish

Sauté the dripping-wet pointed cabbage in butter in a large pot. Season with salt and pepper, then pour in the cream and bring to a boil. Now add a pinch of baking soda, stir vigorously, turn off the stove, and put the lid on the pot. After 5 minutes on the stove, season with nutmeg, heat briefly again, and thicken with starch if desired.
