Poppy seed and almond cake

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 5 eggs
  • 150 g butter
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 g almonds, grated
  • 200 g poppy seeds, ground
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Beat the egg yolks, butter, and sugar until fluffy. Beat the egg whites with vanilla sugar, baking powder, and salt until stiff peaks form. Stir in the almonds and poppy seeds. Bake in a greased and floured pan for about 60 minutes at 180-200°C.
