Pork chops with baked apple

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples, sour
  • 8 leaves sage, chopped
  • 4 pork chops
  • 250 ml white wine
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp mustard (Dijon mustard)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Core the apples and place them in a baking dish. Baste with the white wine and bake for about 45 minutes, until the apples are soft and crumbly. Heat the butter and oil in a pan along with the sage leaves. Add the chops and fry over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Then season with salt and pepper, turn the chops over, top with the sage leaves, and fry for another 5 minutes. In the meantime, carefully remove the apples from the baking dish and keep warm. Pour the stock and mustard into a saucepan and reduce to about 100 ml. Divide the chops among 4 plates, add the baked apples, and baste with the sauce.
