Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g pork fillet(s)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce, dark
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 m.-sized garlic cloves, pressed
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 large onion(s), peeled and cut into fine rings
  • 2 tbsp flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • Oil (sunflower oil) for frying
  • Salad, crispy for serving

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

cold also very suitable for a buffet or picnic

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Trim the meat of any fat and tendons and place it in a bowl. Mix the soy sauce, honey, and garlic well, brush the mixture all over the meat, and let it marinate for about 30 minutes. Place the meat in an ovenproof, cold-rinsed casserole dish, drizzle with the remaining marinade, sprinkle evenly with the sesame seeds, and press them in. Cook the meat for 20 minutes, basting occasionally with the juices. To prevent the meat from overbrowning, cover with aluminum foil and cook for another 10-15 minutes, until cooked through. Meanwhile, coat the onion rings in flour, shaking off excess flour, and fry in hot oil, turning frequently, until golden brown. Serve the thinly sliced meat immediately on a bed of salad with the onions. Served cold at a buffet (without onion rings), it can be served with chili sauce or a chili-coconut sambal (in my recipes).
