Potato and Cabbage Casserole
The perfect potato and cabbage casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Potatoes, boiling floury
- 200 g Grated cheese of your choice
- 300 ml Cream
- 125 g Kat ham
- 300 g Jaroma cabbage
- Salt
- Black pepper from the mill
- Some nutmeg
- Peel and slice the potatoes. Lightly grease a baking dish. Place half of the sliced potatoes as the bottom layer in the baking dish. Spread the ham on top and sprinkle with salt and pepper. I still had blanched Jaroma cabbage left over from the day before. (from my recipe Jaromakohl roulades) I cut these into strips and put them over the first layer of potatoes. Then cover with potatoes again. Sprinkle with the grated cheese. Season the cream with salt, pepper and nutmeg and pour over the casserole. Bake everything in the oven at 200 degrees for about 45-60 minutes. Please do a cooking test, as the cooking time can vary from potato to potato. We also had a salad.
