Potato and Kohlrabi Stew

- 1 kg Waxy potatoes
- 1 Diced onion
- 200 ml Vegetable broth
- 200 ml Milk
- 100 ml Cream
- Salt, pepper, paprika, nutmeg
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 500 gr Minced meat
- 1 tbsp Oil or lard
- Salt pepper
- Peel the kohlrabi and remove any woody parts. First cut into slices, then into sticks and then dice. Peel the potatoes and also cut them into cubes. Fry the potato and kohlrabi cubes in a tall saucepan with the oil, it should not turn too brown. Season the cubes with salt, pepper, paprika and nutmeg and season to taste. Then deglaze the whole thing with the vegetable stock, milk and cream and simmer for at least half an hour with the pot closed. The cooking time depends on the size of the cubes.
- For the “hearty version” fry the minced meat in a pan until crumbly and season with salt and pepper. Then simply add the minced mixture to the stew and fold in.
