Potato gratin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp parsley or chives, chopped
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • 10 g butter
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 100 g cheese (grated Emmental)
  • 400 ml cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Peel and wash the potatoes, cut into 2-3 mm thick slices, and do not add them to the water again. Season generously with salt, pepper, parsley or chives, and thyme. Grease a baking dish with butter. Peel the garlic clove, press it through a press, and spread it in the baking dish. Add a layer of potatoes, not too thick. Sprinkle with cheese and immediately finish with a layer of cheese. Top with cream and bake the potatoes in a preheated oven at 250°C for about 60 minutes. It’s just as suitable as a side dish to roasts or as a standalone dish served with a green salad.
