Potato Snowballs!

The perfect potato snowballs! recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1200 g Potatoes boiled the day before
  • 1,5 Pc. Grated onion
  • 2 tablespoon Potato flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 Pc. Egg
  • 1 bunch Freshly chopped chives
  • 1 piece Cling film
  • 4 liter Salted water
  1. The day before: Peel the potatoes, let them cool, cover with foil and put in a cool place. (Minimum 180 min.)
  2. Press the potatoes through the press.
  3. Peel and grate the onion and add to the batter.
  4. Add the spices, eggs, potato flour & chives, mix everything well. Roll dumplings with wet hands. Everyone has to decide the size for themselves.
  5. Bring the water to a boil, put in the snowballs and let them steep. Be careful not to let it boil. Approx. 20-25 min.
  6. I prefer to roll one up and test it, then I can add some strength if necessary.
