Prickly pear jam with chocolate

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg prickly pear(s)
  • 600 g sugar
  • 150 g dark chocolate

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel the prickly pears (wear gloves – they have very fine spines). Place them in a saucepan and crush them. Heat and simmer until the pulp becomes liquid. Let it cool and then pass it through a food processor. Return the fruit puree to the pan, add the sugar, and cook while stirring until it reaches the consistency of jam (test for settling). Add the chocolate, melt it, and immediately pour into jars and seal.
