Puff pastry – coconut sticks

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • ½ packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 100 g desiccated coconut
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and water in a bowl and stir in desiccated coconut. Spread this mixture onto a sheet of puff pastry and place a second sheet on top. Cut each sheet horizontally in half, then cut 2 cm wide strips from each. Twist the strips from the center outward (they will then resemble a screw). Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 10-15 minutes. Dust the cooled pastries with powdered sugar.
