Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g margarine
  • 50 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 375 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 75 g breadcrumbs
  • 300 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 150 g butter
  • 500 g applesauce
  • Flour for the hands

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with butter, cinnamon sugar and applesauce

Beat the margarine until fluffy. Add the sugar, eggs, and salt and mix well. Stir in the low-fat quark and breadcrumbs. Mix the flour with the baking powder and knead in. If the dough is still sticky, add a little more flour. With floured hands, form dumplings (approx. 4 cm in diameter) and cook in approx. 2 liters of salted water (with 1 heaped teaspoon of salt) for approx. 20 minutes. The water should be gently boiling; remove the lid during this time. For sprinkling, mix the sugar with the cinnamon and set aside. Melt the butter and set aside for pouring over the dough. Sprinkle the finished dumplings with cinnamon sugar. Applesauce also goes very well with this. This mixture has 1242 kcal.
