Quarktaler with plums

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 600 g plums
  • 5 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange peel, grated
  • some cinnamon
  • 30 g clarified butter
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Mix the quark with almonds, 20g breadcrumbs, 20g sugar, and vanilla sugar until smooth. Chill for 10 minutes. Halve and pit the plums. Simmer the orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, and 60g sugar over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the plums and simmer for another 3-4 minutes. With moistened hands, form the quark mixture into approximately 8 rounds and coat them in 30g breadcrumbs. Heat the clarified butter and fry the rounds until golden brown. Serve the quark rounds with the plums and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
